Co-Alliance Cooperative, Inc Purchases Stephenson Oil Company's Heating Oil And Tank Wagon Delivery Business

Nov 23, 2021

Co-Alliance Cooperative announces its purchase of Stephenson Oil Company’s heating oil and tank wagon delivery business. In this venture, Stephenson’s heating oil customers will become customers of the Co-Alliance Seven Mile location effective December 1, 2021.

Co-Alliance is a cooperative organization formally established in 2006 with roots going back to the 1920s. Co-Alliance has two bulk plant facilities in Butler County, Ohio and provides delivery of heating oil and other petroleum products. They have previously been known as Farm Bureau, Butler Landmark, and Harvest Land.

Stephenson Oil was founded in the 1950s by George Imhoff DBA Imhoff Oil and purchased by Stephenson Oil founder Richard J. (R. J.) Stephenson in 1967. Stephenson Oil and Co-Alliance have operated alongside one another in community for many years.

“Stephenson Oil solicited and sought out Co-Alliance to purchase the heating oil and small truck delivery service because they are local, have a history in Butler County, and exhibit the same goals,” said President Thomas Stephenson.

“We are excited about this opportunity because Stephenson Oil’s way of doing business and level of customer service aligns well with Co-Alliance. It will allow us to expand our already established tank wagon delivery services around our Seven Mile location,” said Co-Alliance President and CEO Kevin Still.

“After many years of our companies being friendly and trusted colleagues in the home heating oil business, it was an honor to discuss with Tom Stephenson the possibility of having his valued customers become part of the Co-Alliance family. We can assure the Stephenson customers they will continue to receive the same quality, local and family-oriented service to which they have been accustomed. The transition should be seamless and Stephenson Oil customers can be confident that Co-Alliance will continue to meet their home heating needs with efficiency and integrity,” said Todd Duncan, LP and Petroleum Manager.

Stephenson Oil will remain in operations as it relates to lubricant sales and supplying convenience stores and still be located at their current office location.
