Co-Alliance Cooperative, Inc Announces the Purchase of Knoll Bros Petroleum Products

Mar 07, 2022

Starting March 1, 2022, Knoll Bros customers will become Co-Alliance customers. Co-Alliance has purchased the business from Knoll Bros Petroleum Products and will assume servicing the business immediately.

Knoll Bros was founded in the 1920s by Andrew Knoll under the name A.A. Knoll and Sons as a tank wagon distributor for Pure Oil. Fifty years ago, Knoll Bros Petroleum Products was established when Larry Knoll and his younger brother took over the family company.

“We were looking for a company with the same family values, so our customers would be in good hands. Co-Alliance shares a lot of the same customers, whether they have previously bought fertilizer or propane. We felt good about this acquisition,” said Owner and President Larry Knoll.

Co-Alliance is a cooperative organization formally established in 2006 with roots dating back to the 1920s. Co-Alliance operates 4 bulk plant facilities in Northwest Indiana and lower Michigan, and provides delivery of heating oil, propane, liquid fuels, lubricants, and other petroleum products.

“We are excited about this opportunity. Knoll Bros’ way of doing business and customer service aligns well with Co-Alliance. It will allow us to expand our already established tank wagon delivery services around our northern branches,” said Co-Alliance President and CEO Kevin Still.“

After decades of having the pleasure of working with Larry Knoll and his family, we are pleased to announce a new partnership with Co-Alliance. The Co-Alliance family wants to assure the Knoll Bros’ customers of the same quality, commitment, and dedication to service that they are accustomed to. During this transition period customers can be assured that Co-Alliance will continue to meet their fuel and lubricant needs with efficiency and integrity,” said Todd Masten, Co-Alliance’s VP of Energy.
